Techniques used:
These petroglyphs are found on the rocks in the Mojave Desert. It is thought that they probably represent the tribal shamans of the American Indian. Worked on silk paper, dyed in the colours of the desert, personality and texture is added to this piece with surface stitching selected to complement the design. In this class you will learn how to work an applique technique using silk paper and how to select stitches to compliment the design. There will also be an opportunity to learn how to make your own silk paper for future projects. A kit will be provided which includes the background fabric, the silk paper and the threads required to complete the project.

Tutor Profile – Sue Swann
Sue has dabbled in a variety of different crafts over the years finally finding her niche in embroidery. For the last 20 years she has explored different techniques and styles, and eventually designed her own pieces. She enjoys the challenge of designing a piece and then translating the design into a piece of art. Sue has exhibited at ANZEG Exhibitions as well as different galleries.
Registration Cost: $150.00 class fee
Kit Cost: $50 – contains all the materials required to complete the project, plus comprehensive notes.
